	Education for a Better World: The Campaign for Waldorf It is with great excitement that we present our plans for the new Waldorf High School. After many years of teaching and administering the high school in cozy quarters, we are delighted at having acquired a larger and beautiful oceanfront campus. This site offers space, inspiration, and proximity to the heartbeat of Honolulu Waldorf School’s Niu Valley campus. We find the possibilities for the new high school location to be truly exciting! This “new” high school will enable students to pursue programs that spark inspiration and provide the knowledge necessary to enter into life and action in the future. We plan to have fully equipped science labs, art studios, a photography darkroom, and a computer lab and resource center as well as a music and assembly space with a permanent stage. There will also be a student center, offices for teachers and administrators, plenty of parking, and ample storage facilities. To capitalize on the unique opportunities presented by the oceanfront site, we envision an expansion of our marine science program. The site’s wonderful location — right between Honolulu and East Honolulu and much closer to the Niu campus — together with the larger building and campus will greatly facilitate future growth of the high school. Its enrollment can increase to 120 students, while at the same time maintaining the intimacy of a single-track high school. Since the school’s inception, a rich and vibrant community of faculty, students, and parents, all focused on the well-being of the whole child, has developed and prospered. Today Honolulu Waldorf School enjoys an exceptionally strong and diverse parent body made up of families who are dedicated to the success of our school. As part of that community, they have the unique opportunity to play a significant role in the future story of the Honolulu Waldorf High School. The success of the Capital Campaign is imperative to the continued and expanding strength of Waldorf education in Honolulu. The Board, together with the College of Teachers, has taken responsibility for developing a long-range plan, which will be subject to an annual review throughout the Campaign. All monies pledged and collected to the Education for a Better World: the campaign for Waldorf will be used solely for that purpose. A gift is a sacred trust given by the donor and the Board of Trustees is committed to honoring that trust. We invite you to join this defining endeavor to secure the future of the Honolulu Waldorf High School and the financial strengthening of the entire institution. As traditional educational systems and forms of financial investment begin to produce increasingly disappointing results, an investment into the rigorous and inspired education provided at the Honolulu Waldorf High School may be the most prudent and sound decision we can make for the future and welfare of our children.
